Wildwood is a community built by residents who wanted to control their own destinies in terms of their community, government and future development with the goal of “Planning Tomorrow Today”. A new community, incorporated in 1995, is now home to more than 32,000 residents and still growing.
Wildwood, sitting on 68 square miles in the far western area of St. Louis County, offers beautiful views of the Ozark Mountains foothills and the bordering Meramec and Missouri Rivers. Blending a touch of city and touch of country living, there is a large variety of real estate and strong demand has driven sales in the area to record levels…pushing prices from the median average for a house or condo from $241,900 in 2000 to $383,500 in 2007.
This is a family community with over 51% of the households having children under the age of 18. Wildwood students attend the award-winning Rockwood School district. And recently Wildwood became home to the new St. Louis Community College campus.
Residents of all ages find there is a lot to do in Wildwood. The 11 acres of public-held land includes the Al Foster Trail (a runner’s paradise), and Rockwood, Babler and Greensfelder Parks. Hidden Valley Ski Resort and Six Flags St. Louis are nearby for sport and entertainment.
The City of Wildwood’s planned business and commercial expansion is bolstered by the Spirit of St. Louis Airport located nearby. A multi-million dollar airport expansion of the Spirit of St. Louis airport was completed in 2007.
You can’t miss if you choose this growing, planned community with an atmosphere of a prosperous city with a touch of country living.
