A Few Facts About Rock Hill, Missouri

Rock Hill is a lower to middle-income community of about 4,600 residents (2007) with a more diverse racial makeup.  The median income for a household in the city is just under $50,000; men average $41,776 versus $31,859 women.  In 2007 5.1% of the population was below the poverty line.

Rock Hill offers more affordable housing in the middle of much more affluent communities.  Many of the city services are provided by those communities.  Housing prices have dipped considerably in the last couple of years; the median house or condo value in 2007 was $189,521 dropping to about $140,000 in the first half of 2009.

Rock Hill is served by the Webster Groves Public Schools.  Some schools are located within Rock Hill’s city limits:

  • Hudson Elementary School
  • Webster Groves Elementary Computer School
  • Steger Sixth Grade Center

There are also many parochial, private, special schools and colleges nearby.

Rock Hill is served by Webster Groves/Shrewsbury Area Chamber of Commerce…which also serves three other inner-ring suburban cities:  Webster Groves, Shrewsbury and Marlborough.  The WG/SA serves as advocates for business interests, fosters leadership in these four communities and helps new or relocating businesses connect, grow and succeed.
