It looks like downtown, and feels like downtown. But it’s Clayton. It features huge government buildings, impeccably dressed executives moving along busy sidewalks, corporate offices and a clutch of high-rise office buildings. But it also has quiet neighborhoods and beautiful homes, most of which are within walking distance of specialty boutiques, unique shops and relaxing cafes.
Clayton is the county seat of St. Louis County, but to most people it represents simply one of the most desirable places in the region to live. It boasts millions of square feet of prestigious office and retail space, but more personally, it offers attractive residential streets, public recreational facilities like the Center of Clayton, more than 70 acres of grassy parks and the matchless Clayton School District. It’s also home to Washington University, and it’s close to several interstate highways, just twelve minutes from both Downtown St. Louis and Lambert International Airport. The MetroLink light rail system has also recently added a couple stops in Clayton.
In addition to being the hub of government and business activity in the St. Louis area, Clayton is also smack dab in the middle, so everywhere is close. That’s convenience, with style.
